Day 21 of 21 Days of Prayer
2 Peter 3:8-9 - 8 But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
The last key to answered prayer is a simple one: persistence. Sometimes the answers to prayer seem very slow in coming. But, God has not forgotten you! This passage reveals something of God’s character. He is not like us! It also reveals that God is sovereign. He isn’t ever fast or slow, he’s right on time. There are lots of reasons laid out in the book why it’s possible that God hasn’t answered your prayer yet, but there are even more in the Bible. God’s ways are higher than ours and his plans are greater than ours and we see things in part but God sees them completely. He can be trusted. Keep persisting in prayer, and trust God with the answers - whether they come quickly or slowly.
