This world is temporary. Pursuing Jesus means embracing the suffering, with our eyes on him as our example we can change how we think in this world. Suffering will happen, and why should we expect that we will be exempt? Christ suffering was the very thing that accomplished our salvation, and in following Jesus into suffering we are reminded that death has no sting! We can live life in light of that victory - enduring the slings and arrows of others and trusting in the one who will judge each according to their faith in Christ.
