A LEGACY

LEGACY INITIATIVE
Leaving a lasting legacy isn't about our own achievements, it is about participating in God's Mission. By supporting and actively participating in ministry we are planting seeds for the Gospel that will bring a harvest for generations to come.

Our children and grandchildren watch as we live out and pass on our faith. When we lead by example, we help to spur them to serve God in their own generations. As they see us sacrificing our comfort for God's mission, their eyes are opened to the joy of following Jesus.

2026 Legacy Initiative

If you want to get somewhere, you need a plan and you need to pay attention that you’re heading in the right direction! We want to be intentional about reaching our city, and the world, with the hope of Jesus Christ. Good intentions aren’t enough, we need a plan and we need to pay attention to where we are headed.

Each year we take time as a church family to talk about future vision and planning. It’s easy to get so caught up in the present that we never take time to check the maps and make sure that we’re heading in the right direction. Legacy Initiative is our time to refocus and check the map. We need to do this so that we can leave a legacy for future generations.

The 2026 Legacy Initiative Focus is: Investing in People

2026 Legacy Initiative Goals

The Most Important Investment: People

Investing in People

Although we are experiencing rapid growth as a church, we can’t settle for attendance numbers as our measurement of success. Jesus calls us to make disciples. We call people to Grow in Community, but right now we don’t have enough small groups to meet the needs of our current attendees. We must invest in people. Until we have enough small group leaders and hosts for our current attendance, it would be unwise to pursue a church expansion.

Investing in the Kingdom

If you want a muscle to grow, or simply to stay strong, you have to exercise it. We believe that generosity is a muscle that needs to be exercised on a regular basis. Last year’s Legacy Giving helped a new church plant, and was set aside to fund a church planting residency endowment. This year’s offering will benefit people and churches that work for the kingdom in Honduras. There are 3 child development centers that are operated out of local churches in the city of Tegucigalpa. These development centers each have needs that your generous giving can meet.

This is a call to mobilize:

- New small group leaders
- New host homes
- New apprentices

Pray about becoming a small group apprentice, leader or host. We will have a small group apprenticeship intensive this fall to help train and mobilize willing small group leaders more quickly.

This is a call to give over and above regular tithes and offerings:

- Raise a total of $30,000 to help fund needs across 3 child development centers.

- Center #1 - Money will go to lay cement or tiles on the floor, plaster the walls, install doors on the classrooms, fix the pipes, and the plumbing system in the bathrooms.

- Center #2 - Money will go to equip the computer lab they use to help the participants with their school homework. The 4 computers they had are not working anymore (more than 10 years old). They also need a refrigerator and an industrial stove.

-Center #3 - Money will go toward purchasing food, water and water storage containers. Many of the homes in this community with children lack these basic necessities.

2025 Legacy Initiative Look Back

Thanks to the generosity of our church through last year's Legacy Initiative, we were able to give $30,000 to support Change City Church. This gift helped them hire a worship leader, strengthening their ability to lead people in authentic worship each week and continue reaching their community with the hope of the Gospel.  We were able to designate another $50,000 of the giving to be set aside to create an endowment that will help fund a church planter residency program. The rest of giving was/is being used to help us with engineering plans to explore phase two at our current location.
