Read John 4:7, 9-30
I love the reaction that this woman has to Jesus. Look at what she does and look at what she says….
“…So the woman left her water jar and went away into town and said to the people, “Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?” They went out of the town and were coming to him…”
This woman was immediately changed, so much so that she left her water jar and ran into the town and told everyone to meet Jesus. And what was everyone’s reaction? They all came to meet Jesus.
Your invitation to invited your friend to meet Jesus is not just an invitation to them, but an invitation to everyone that they know. This is how the gospel works. The gospel moves people and culture. The gospel shapes our minds and our society. But once again, it only does this when we are willing to take the first step of sharing. In other words, we must spread the fire.
Ask yourself this question today, “Why do I not have an urgency to get my friends in front of the gospel?” Maybe the answer is fear, maybe the answer is confidence. But regardless of your answer the command is the same…..
Do not let fear hold you back from spreading the gospel. Do not let a lack of confidence hold you back from inviting your friends to get in front of the gospel on Easter at Covenant. You have the torch in your hand, now is the time to light this world on fire for Christ.
Right now take a moment to pray for your friend or family member. Pray that God continues to build in you a sense of urgency in inviting them to be your guest on Easter at Covenant. Pray that God will light a fire in you first and then spread that fire into your friends and family.
